Just noticed that the Tenshi and Archangel both have compact gyros. Also, the slope of the "nose", the way the elbows work, etc are all dead ringers for the Archangel. It just needs a PPC in its head, a retractable blade in its arm, and a crazy religious guy in the cockpit.
But yeah, no, this is just the tip of the iceberg. I'm still thinking that the Blakists engineered their own demise, and Devlin Stone and the Republic was just "phase 2" of their plan.
It's always funny what pops through your work on a subconscious level. Especially with the rushed schedule we're under with the 3145 TRO series. I never thought to turn to the Archangel (even with the name Tenshi/Angel) or any of the other WoB Omnimechs for inspiration. I was simply going with an upgraded Dire Wolf/Daishi with hints from other I.S. omnis like the Sunder, and my fav. the Avatar. Interesting that so many (on bg.battletech.com) mentioned the same thing you did-- seeing the Archangel influence in her aesthetics.
Ok this looks badass. Now what does it come with? My guess from the visuals: - PPC (er-or Heavy) and (medium) Laser in the leftarm - LRM5/Arrorw4 with Tag/Artemis and a blue shield/case in the right arm - LRM10 in each leg. - Laser in CT/LT and one in the head - AMS in the LT - Photo camera above the RT
which along with its appearance has made some fans wonder if the design isn't tied to the Word of Blake Celestial series of Omnimechs in some way. given that plenty of other factions are building other types of mechs developed by the WoB (like the Republic and the Raptor II), the combine reverse engineering some Celestials to advance their mech design programs doesn't seem to far fetched. especially for a mech like the Tenshi, which is mostly used by the Ghost regiments.
